Western Vascular Diagnostics is a non-invasive vascular laboratory in the western suburbs of Melbourne. The main office and laboratory is situated at the Western Hospital, Footscray. The laboratory is named in honour of the founding Head of the Vascular Surgery Unit at the Western Hospital, Mr R Barry King and the retired director, Mr Gary Frydman.  Further laboratories operate at Williamstown and Ballarat.

The Non Invasive Vascular Laboratory provides comprehensive non-invasive testing for vascular disease for both inpatients and outpatients. This helps detect and localise blocked arteries and veins and gives the treating Doctor valuable information to aid in the treatment of vascular disease by making possible early detection and treatment of life threatening vascular diseases including arterial occlusive disease, stroke and deep vein thrombosis. Vascular lab testing is also the mainstay of the investigation as to why people have varicose veins and will help the treating Doctor determine the type of procedure required for the sucessful treatment of this condition.

We are fully accredited for ultrasound studies under the Diagnostic Imaging Accreditation Scheme by NATA (National Association of Testing Authorities, Australia)
